Amanda Linehan, treasurer’s report:
- Financial statements. Expenses last year were $3500. Mowing costs were low. Lots went up in value; reflected in statements.
- Quickbooks: I use QuickBooks Desktop to manage the finances of the association. That software is being phased out by Intuit. Support on the version that I currently use is no longer available. Intuit is forcing people to switch to QuickBooks Online. I would like to request that I can sign up for QB Online for 2024. My firm (GVZ Accounting) provides a 30% discount if we do a direct bill arrangement on the subscription through Intuit. That means we would pay $21/month for the subscription. It would be billed to GVZ Accounting, and GVZ would bill us for this. Without this software, I am not going to be able to send out statements and keep the books for the Association.
Moved by Kat, Jodi seconds, passed by voice vote.
Billing will begin in summer, may have the ability for online pay for dues at some point. General agreement that online dues pay would help in timely collection of dues.
- We are in a position to be able to look at using funds. Discussion. Board members will be looking at Rainbow Play Systems sales and others for good price on a play system for Wert/Overlook park with hopes of presenting at Annual Meeting.
Annual Meeting planning:
- Need to move annual meeting date (would be April 4) to accommodate “community conversations” happening in Hudson school district (https://hudsonraiders.org/creating-our-future-together/)
Proposed: April 25.
Will send postcard announcement to members, annual letter communication to follow after meeting. (April 25 7pm, bring your own chair, snacks provided). Jill will take lead on postcard.
General agreement to provide some low-cost food and beverages (cookies, coffee, tbd).
